You should be able to, depending on which gateway device you have.  Which gateway do you have?  Have you looked at the User Guide?  You would use the Admin Tool (https://10.0.0.1) and log in (admin/password) to check/change WiFi settings.

The two WiFi bands have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. 

If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 bands and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

no help - the menu choices have changed and I cannot get into the connections to separate them and its annoying
