Trying to connect a 2.4 device, will not pair

Hi, @user_ca84d6. Thank you for reaching out and creating a new post. I see you have a device that requires a dedicated 2.4 GHz connection, but you're having some trouble. I know it can be a headache to have any type of network hiccups, but we are here to help. Assuming you have an Xfinity Gateway, there is a likelihood that your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands are sharing the same Wi-Fi name and password. This is something we actually recommend as you can read about here: Simplify Your WiFi – Benefits of Using One WiFi Name and Password for Your Home Network

If this sounds like your situation, you will need to modify the settings to "split" your bands. This will then enable devices that need a 2.4 GHz band to connect. This can easily be done using the Xfinity app as listed here How To View and Change Your WiFi Network Name and Password on an Xfinity xFi Gateway. You will need to go in and update your network into two names. It could be something Network2.4 and Network5. As a heads-up, when you update the names it will likely require you reconnect the devices to your Wi-Fi again. Let me know if that helps. :)

 i am having the same problem that occurred around the same time this week.  only for my 2.5GHz devices.  the 5GHz still works ok.  i tried the split band suggestion already and nothing changed.  authentication errors still for just 2.4Ghz capable devices on that 2.4GHz net.  modem type CGM4331COM.

   Press Enter to send it
