2.4 wifi

I have the 1gig speed Internet. Speeds to my router are great. Speeds from my router are horrible. 2.4 gets maybe 50mbps if I’m lucky, I’m often unable to even watch Netflix (I pay for 1 gig speeds). I have to have 2.4 due to some smart home devices. Comcast has ignored, made promises, blamed me, etc for months. What should I do at this point?

For a test, does a computer / device hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?


With this test, we are trying to isolate this from being either a WiFi-only problem or a problem with the general connection to the Comcast system which would of course affect both. It's a good first step of troubleshooting before we proceed any further.

No it doesn’t. It doesn’t get the speeds that the Comcast test says is coming to our router, but it isn’t as bad a as the wifi. And that device is only used for one thing a couple of times a year 🤷‍♀️
