2.0gb Internet

Upgraded to 2.0gb internet, spent a few hours trying to get the full bandwidth.  Still being throttled down to 1.2gb speeds.  XB8 modem in bridge mode going into an ASUS GT AX 11000 router.  Cat 6 ethernet.  Port 4 on modem going into 2.5gb port on router.  WAN set at 2.5gb in router.  How can I get the actual 2.5gb provisioned?

@sunriseauction  Thanks for adding a post, and troubleshooting the speed. Have you confirmed what the modem is getting directly, without bridge mode? That will let us know what the base speed is that we're working from.

@XfinityBenny  It always throttles down whether in bridge mode or not.  I do sporadically get between 1300 and 1800 down, always around 298 up.  There was a tech here.  He said the line coming into the modem into the modem was 2gb.  He also had a tester that measured 2gb directly out of the modem into his tester.  I believe that I am still provisioned at 1.2gb and not the full 2gb.  I am swapping out my asus gt ax11000 router to make sure that the router is not the choke point.

sunriseauction Thanks for the update and for troubleshooting with us. It's great to hear that a technician confirmed the line is delivering the correct speed to your modem.

Since you've already identified the possibility of the router being the choke point, swapping it out is a great next step. Let us know how the new router works out for you! We'll be here to help if you need anything else.

I still need verification that I am also provisioned correctly.

No problem we can definitely verify what your modem is provisioned for once we get into the account 👍 Please send us a direct chat message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the full service address associated with your account to “Xfinity Support”.
