$200 Visa Gift Card Unfulled promised followed by lies

2024  June

Back in June of 2024 I contacted customer support and purchased home internet service ( essential s)I requested for the items to be sent to my apartment not quite sure about what happened to shipping it was taking too long so I had to cancel . Around September - October I received a bill in the mail from Xfinity advising me that I owed $156-200 and it was for the Internet & Tv which I found odd because I canceled service several months ago prior I contacted customer support for about a month or two until I was able to reach aan agent who was willing to assist me and credit the account since I didn’t get to use the service in the first place. I was indeed at the time that I would be compensated with a $200 Visa Gift Card due to all the “inconvenience” I had faced at the time that I would have it sent to my email . After many failed attempts on reaching out to customer support via phone and chat being placed on hold for long periods of time just to be disconnected or sent to the wrong department I took it a lost .

2025

I reached out again seeking service because the other service wasn’t great . At the time I explained the situation and wanted to know if that offer stands with the $200 Visa Gift Card I was told at the time after being with Xfinity for 30 days I would get the gift card via email . Every since then I have faced the following

  • Excessive Long Hold Times ( via phone )
  • “This is billing let me get u over to the right department ( proceeds to transfer me to the wrong department )
  • Im sorry for the inconvenience you have faced let me speak to my backteam and I’ll get you that gift card … hold hold “what’s ur email ? then disconnects when I send the email
  • Tampering with WiFi causing the chat to disconnect
  • Escalation tickets that never get resolved

I have at times requested to speak to a manager and nothing good comes it because they just as bad as the regular agents. I understand that as a company you have polocies that need to be followed but at the same time I was promised a $200 Visa Gift Card that needs to be honored .
Per Consumer RIGHTS

I have the right to receive the $200 gift card I confirmed in via chat and phone ( which i have documented proof of ) . Due to this issue being unresolved I filed a complaint with the FTC & will contuine to share my experience

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

yknae Thanks for reaching out to us about your visa card offer that came with a promotion you signed up for. You have come to the right place to get this sorted out for you. We would be happy to assist with getting the offer you approved for the card completed.

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (speech bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

@XfinityEricB

thank you for ur much needed response

So i am unable to get the gift card as promised because of the qualifcations even though it was validated multiple times in chats and agents advised me my account was in good standing and that I could get the gift card .

per consumer policy

Once a customer service takes responsiblity or acknowledge that the customer is owed compensation I am 100% entitled to the compensation and regardless whatever the situation is and u all are supposed to coach the agents on what not to do .

The fact that i have sat here and explained everything and provided documented proof and im still being denied is insane . Also not apologzing for previous agents tampering with my account causing my work to be disruptive is an even bigger issue. SO whats the next step here do I need to contactg my state general office and

After explaining myself and providing proof and documentation they are refusing to issue me the Visa gift card

Next Steps

  • Filing a complaint with The Federal Trade Commission
  • Opening up a investigation with the internet crimes unit
