1200 MB service. slow WIFi

i have the 1200mb service but i only get about 350 mb over wifi. the tech came to my house today and told me i was unable to get anywhere close to the 1200 over wifi only hard wired. my question is, is that just because xfinity equipment cant put out those speeds over wifi or is that speed just no capable over wifi? can i buy an aftermarket router and reach those speeds over wifi? it seems like i can from what im reading.

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Hello, u/dritisdasht! I'm sorry to hear about the slow speeds being experienced; you should definitely be able to reach those higher speeds over Wi-Fi. I'd like to take a look at things as well on our end! Please send me a [Modmail message](https://comca.st/3wIAwel) and include your full name and service address, so I can assist you.

@dritisdasht I don't think comcast knows anything when it comes to their own service. Don't feel bad, you aren't alone. Millions of us pay for fast speeds yet barely get a third of that, then comcast says nothing is wrong.
