1200 gigabit plan? Help?
so I have the 1200 plan. My computer is decked out with liquid cooling overclocked has a 2.5/2.4 gigabit card. When I first realized I had a problem I was disconnected from a very lucrative stream on Twitch. I have windows 11 pro. I realized I was capped on my ethernet at 100mbps (also reflected on my link speed) I had two techs come out and one tech (the final one) that the issue was not my cable. And he said the problem was my PC. After he left I swapped the cable and instantly my link speed went up to 1000mbps (on a 2.5/2.4 card and on the 1.2-gigabit plan) I tested my speeds. I'm only getting about 400mbps every time I test. When I use the app (Xfinity) the router/modem gives my 1200 at the router but still receives a speed test of 400. The company insists it's at my end and refuses to help me further. Any help to fix this??

So I had the solution to the problem I spent a lot of hours trying to figure out what it was ultimately the modem was bad which I think would’ve been the first thing that was checked by the technician but apparently all they did was check the line into the modem and the speed the modem was getting and then they checked the speed that my computer was getting and just blamed my PC on it instead of checking if the modem was actually goo. Go Xfinity

I have an update I swapped to a new modem by Arris And I’m still getting the same speed now I am completely baffled. The fact that I can get 350 to 400 Mbps Means that there should be no issue with my computer and net

Since you have eliminated the line and the modem, that leaves your computer. FWIW, perhaps it is because of settings in your computer. It may take some sleuthing to find out what is causing it. Good luck.

What modem are you using? If you're using a model not rated for 1.2Gbps speeds you may be getting capped at something much lower. You say that the router gives you 1200 but you only get 400 on a speedtest--does the router have a speedtest that says it's getting speeds of 1200? If you know the router is getting full speed then the issue must be downstream from the router at your pc/ethernet cables/etc. Could you try a speedtest with the Xfinity speedtest page @ https://speedtest.xfinity.com/ using a different computer directly plugged into the modem?
