Xi6-A Ethernet connection

I cannot get the Ethernet port to connect at 1 G speed. It switches back to 100 Mb speed. I have done all the default checks like cables, routers, loose plugs etc. When I connect my laptop to the same router port It works fine at 1 G speed. I am wondering if the WiFi is interfering with the Ethernet connection? In the settings on the TV there is not an option to turn off the WiFi.

user_tperk Thank you for stopping in for help with this speed drop with your hardwired connection. Since the Xi6 TV box normally has a wifi connection, turning off the Wifi connection on the TV box would not be in the settings. You can use the Xfinity app in the connected devices section it should show how the device is currently connected. Have you checked the Xfinity app already to confirm if the Wifi is taking over? 

Could I ask what Modem you are working with for the hardwired connection?

@XfinityAmandaB​ the app says it is connected to Ethernet when the Ethernet cable is connected. I am not using an xfinity modem or xfinity internet service. I have my own modem, routers, and switches.

user_tperk That is great, so you did confirm it is connected using the hardwired connection and rules out the wifi interfering. Next, I was able to check the box specs, and it does look like the port on the Xi6 box is limited to 100 Mbps. If you are still encountering issues with the box, I would be happy to help if you let me know what is going on. It may not be related to the connection if we ruled out the wifi as the issue.

Is there another box I can get with a 1 Gig port? What is the WiFi speed for the Xi6? I just need to be able to watch the recordings on My DVR. I am getting errors and can’t play recordings.
