Xfinity Streaming App installation on Hisense Smart TV

Why is the Xfinity app still not available for Hisense CanvasTV? When is it going to be available? Thank you for your help.

Thanks for posting on our Community Forums, Jjwelz. We work with equipment manufacturers to bring the Xfinity Stream app to compatible Amazon Fire TV devices, Apple TV devices, LG Smart TVs, Roku devices, and other partner devices. However, not all device models meet the minimum hardware requirements for the Xfinity Stream app. While we're actively working to expand compatibility, we don’t have a specific timeline to share just yet. But we’re hopeful it will be available on more devices soon. For device compatibility, you can visit us HERE.

This response is disingenous. My brand new HiSense TV meets your hardware requirements. The issue is that you and and Google / Hisense are in some kind of staring contest in which your Xfinity customers are the loser. Truly it is shameful that this is not resolved after many years. It is one of the reasons I am looking at alternatives to Xfinity.

@user_6e75c9 Unfortunately we don't have a ton of say whether specific brands choose to include us in their TV's app store or not. Even if the hardware requirements are met. As of now the current workaround for TV's that don't support our app would be to purchase a Roku , Fire stick, or Google Chromecast plug in for the TV and download our app on that device.

We also recently launched new TV plans that include the 1st cable box free that can be used on TVs that don't support the app access.
