Xfinity Stream

While attempting to stream on the app on my Roku TV, the screen is black with 3 loading dots. After a while the screen will say, “Attempting to Resume… We’ve run into a problem while streaming,” and it will keep trying to load. Occasionally, it will show the error code TVAPP-00231. I have logged out, logged back in, deleted the app, restarted the tv, unplugged the tv, nearly everything. I was able to stream prior as well until this started happening. I also downloaded it on a different tv in the house and my phone thinking the other tv wasn’t compatible anymore. The streaming app gives the same loading screen/message. Any info on how to fix this?? Is it a me problem? or xfinity?

I have the same issue today august 15, 2026. We have a new Samsung tv and stream xfinity with Roku. I keep getting error 00230 yet our office tv is streaming just fine.

user_raznhq Did the information from @XfinityBenny help with getting the streaming back to normal for you, or are you still getting the error?

@user_ilgm0j Thanks for posting to the community and letting us know about the error. When it happens, you want to go to the app settings on the Roku. There, you want to reset the app permissions, and clear the cache. Once that's done, relaunch the app. It will have a clean start and play again.
