Xfinity stream TV

I get out of home error message when I use Xfinity Stream app (through AppleTV) on remote TV.  Do I need to alter my in home Xfinity settings?

Hello @user_12602e, we appreciate you reaching out to our team on Forums. We can definitely understand how frustrating it can be to experience issues while trying to enjoy some TV while you're away.

If you receive the out of home message while in your home, try the following steps to verify your connection:

1. Navigate to your device's WiFi settings and ensure that your current network is your in-home Xfinity WiFi network, rather than another local connection in the area (e.g., a coffee shop, a neighbor's WiFi or an Xfinity WiFi hotspot using the xfinitywifi SSID).
2. Ensure you aren’t connected to a VPN.
3. Ensure you can connect to the Internet through a web browser while connected to your in-home network.
- This must be done on your in-home network, and not through cellular connection such as 3G/4G/5G.
4. Try accessing the Xfinity Stream app from another mobile device or visit the website (http://www.xfinity.com/stream) from your computer.
- If you're able to log in from the second device, verify the WiFi settings on the original device
5. Log out of the app and log back in:
- Navigate to the Settings gadget on the Xfinity Stream app.
- Select Change Household Account.
- Note: If you have previously downloaded any recordings to-go, logging out will return these recordings to your DVR and remove them from your mobile device.
6. Ensure that your cable modem information – make/model, serial number and MAC address

– is accurate for your account. You can review online by visiting: customer.xfinity.com/MyServices/Internet. If your modem information is incorrect, please Contact Us to update it appropriately.
7. Stream Web portal users on Safari browsers: Apple’s macOS Monterey operating system updates include an Internet privacy service called iCloud Private Relay. Because the service conceals your location and your Internet service provider, the Stream Web portal can’t detect that you’re connected to your home network. To play content that’s only available in-home, please turn off iCloud Private Relay.
- Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences, or click the System Preferences icon in the Dock.
- Click on Apple ID at the top of the screen.
- Choose iCloud.
- Click to turn Private Relay off.

Please let us know if this helps.
