Xfinity stream no channel guide on Samsung tv

Ever since the beta stream app was updated recently, the the channel guide which allows u to change channels is GONE!  The tv/app gets stuck on ONE channel and there is no way to change it! I’m using a Samsung tv and have been using the app fine until this latest update. Where is the Change channel button?   No one on xfinity support chat or on the phone has a clue what I’m talking about.   Very frustrating!

Unfortunately the employee did not indicate how to tell how much RAM memory a TV has.

Without the MiniGuide, to change the channel you have to [Return] to the first Stream screen ("Now Playing"), select "Live TV", and scroll to the channel you want to watch. "Saved", "Browse", "Search", and "Settings" are also options on that screen.

First Mini Guide disappeared. I was able to navigate back to full guide for a couple of days but must have gotten another update since. Now the only options available are previous channels. Not able to try logging in again since “settings” is gone!

Thanks for joining our Xfinity Forums community. We have a great community of Experts, employees, and community members here to answer your questions.

@BruceW provided some great information about the mini guide issue with Samsung TVs and how to navigate.

Xfinity Stream won’t work on 2017 Samsung and LG TVs beginning at the end of June or early July 2022.

These TV models can’t support newer web browsers.

The latest version of the Xfinity Stream app doesn’t work as it’s supposed to on outdated browsers.

Customers with these TVs can still use the Xfinity Stream Beta app for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or Chromecast.

Affected TVs should show a pre-sunset banner when opening the Xfinity Stream App:

Soon Xfinity Stream will no longer be available on this TV."

What is the  make, model, and year of the TV you are having the issue with the Xfinity Stream App?

I no longer work for Comcast.

I’ve got it working now! I removed the Xfinity app. After I installed it again it is no longer “beta.” It’s now purple and says “xfinity stream.” We can use the down arrow to quickly get to previous channels. The “return” button takes us to a menu screen which has a “Live TV” option that brings up the full guide. I don’t think any other buttons on the Samsung remote work in the app.
