Xfinity Stream Does Not Work on Amazon Fire HD8 Tablet

I have an Amazon Fire HD8 tablet 7th Generation which will not update beyond Fire OS 5. Although this tablet worked with Xfinity Stream Beta, the newer Xfinity Stream is not supported. I should have ignored the message from Xfinity recommending an update to Xfinity Stream Beta, as this has disabled Xfinity streaming on this device. Elsewhere, Xfinity does appear to say that Xfinity Stream is not supported on Fire OS 5.

I went so far as to install the Google Play Store on the tablet, but it also does not offer the Xfinity Stream App.

Xfinity has simultaneously made my tablet, Xfinity TV service less valuable. Thanks so much.

The tablet still works fine for my other non-Xfinity streaming content, though. I'll try that instead of Xfinity content.

Do NOT attempt to update Xfinity Stream Beta on an older Amazon Fire Tablet.
