Xfinity stream app updated on Samsung TV

The Xfinity stream app updated on Samsung tv and it changed the entire format. I can't see my favorite channels anymore.  I have to scroll down starting from channel 2 to get to any of the channels I watch.  Does anyone know how to get back to the original settings on a Samsung TV?

Quite a few other people have also commented on this issue. When is Xfinity going to pay attention and resolve it?

This update is the opposite of user-friendly.  It is awful

@Xfinity Support

The new update on Samsung TVs is awful. The LAST WATCHED feature is gone. Used to click the center button on the remote and that would bring up 9 or so last watched channel icons that ran horizontally across the screen. That allowed us to easily return to favorite / last watched channels. The only option now appears to be scrolling the entire GUIDE to move from channel to channel. It wasn’t great previously but worked well enough in comparison to this. This update makes changing channels an even more difficult chore instead of simplifying the process. It’s difficult to imagine any TV-watching human being tested this app before it was widely released.

The info for each channel on GUIDE used to indicate if a program was NEW. That feature has also disappeared. It’s very useful and sorely missed.

Hello @user_d1bbc0, Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a post on our community forum, and we would be happy to help. To change the picture format or aspect ratio while using the Xfinity Stream app on a Samsung TV, you’ll need to adjust the TV’s picture settings because the Xfinity Stream app does not have its own aspect ratio or zoom controls. Using your Samsung TV remote, press Home or Menu, then go to Settings > Picture > Picture Size Settings. From there, select the preferred format, such as 16:9 Standard or 4:3. If you’d like the picture to fill more of the screen, select Custom and enable Fit to Screen, if available on your TV model. Let us know if that helps!

Please relook at the thread. No one here is asking about aspect ratios. By “format”, the original poster (@user_d1bbc0) is remarking that the new updated Samsung TV streaming app is inferior to the previous version and inquiring about how they can get back to that previous version. 🤦‍♂️

@user_yuxvfx under my deals in the Xfinity App it listed YouTube TV for $72.99 per month for the first year. I think that might be your solution, straight from my Xfinity Account...

@jdawg90 What are you even talking about? What you mention about YouTube TV has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. This might be the most dysfunctional forum thread ever.

@user_yuxvfx Think it through---your solution is to get rid of Xfinity TV and use YouTube TV as advertised under your deals within your Xfinity Account. So it's highly related and it's a solution for your frustration with Xfinity Stream. And I guess it's approved by Xfinity because they're the ones advertising it in people's Xfinity accounts.
