Xfinity Stream App plays then freezes video w/ audio

This is a very frustrating issue with my Xfinity app....I can't seem to play items from the DVR for longer than 20 - 30 minutes....the video freezes, but the audio plays. It's for all of my recorded items no matter the channel it's recorded from. Is there a fix for this??? The version of my app is 7.14.0.2652

The "workaround" to using a web browser to login to the Xfinity Stream service literally forces you to use the app, which defeats the purpose. You can ONLY use your laptop+web browser combination to watch DVR recordings on Xfinity Stream.........PLEASE FIX THIS. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
