Xfinity Stream app on Fire Stick ... gets kicked out of program and can't get back in until reset or another app is loaded

I'm using the lastest firestick and version 8.9 of Xfinity stream on that.  Have multiple TV's with Firesticks and problem exists on all.  Can be watching an Xfinity channel, doesn't matter what.   Occassionally, in the middle of watching the Xfinity App exists the channel.  When I then try to reselect the channel (any channel) the Xfinity app just cycles back to the channel selection.  It no longer plays any channel.  To fix this, I have to exit the xfinity app, then run some other app (e.g. Netflx or Ruku), then exit that and then go back into the Xfinity app.    Feels like the xfinity  Cache is messing up.  I've cleared the cache and eventually problem comes back.  I'm wondering if the app is having a problem, and since auto resume is with the fire stick, it auto resumes back to the problem area?   Any one else have this problem?

Just keeps freezing on me.  Updated both fire stick and stream app.  Uninstalled reinstalled stream.  Have not tried clearing stream cache or unplugging fire stick and plugging back into tv.

Just hit play/pause and stream resumes.  Kind of irritating though.

mike_kallet You may want to unplug the power source from the Firestick for about a minute and then plug it back in. If the problem persists after that, please let us know.

Unplugging the firestick works, but the problem comes back. It's random, sometimes several times a day, sometimes non. I'm wondering if there is a momentarily hickup in the internet or wifi connection and the xfinity app on the firestick gets into a stuck phase.  When I exit the xfinity app and run any other app, then go back into the xfinity app, all is back to normal.

mike_kallet Do you have any other firesticks in the home that exhibit the same issue?
