Xfinity Stream app login issues on appletv 4k

I have installed the Xfinity Stream app on my AppleTV device and attempted to login to my xfinity account so I can use the app to stream my xfinity tv content through my appletv device.  However, when I try to login, I am stuck in this loop of scan the qr code login to Xfinity on my device accept request then nothing happens on my app connection in apple tv.  All I can do is go back and try the login sequence again.  Please help.

I decided to try to use the provided URL with the code and it looked like it was going to work, but then just gave me an error message saying that "This device can only access Xfinity Stream on your in-home Xfinity WiFi.  Use the app on your smartphone, table or laptop to watch on the go, any time you like".  Am I understanding the message correctly?  Does Comcast/Xfinity only allow existing customers to stream the content we pay for through the Xfinity Stream app, if you also subscribe to their Xfinity WiFi service as well?  Is that for real?  If that is true, it is SUPER LAME of Xfinity to hold the content we pay for hostage, in an attempt to get their existing customers to spend more money with Xfinity.

For troubleshooting purposes, are you able to successfully log in and access the Stream app via a mobile device (phone/tablet)? Also, when you were away from home trying to log into the Stream app, were you still trying to do so through your Apple TV?

Yes, I am able to launch and login to my Stream app on my phone.  I am always trying to login to the Xfinity Stream app though my AppleTV from home.

@user_tu9lq0 Hello! Thank you for the additional information. When you try using the Stream App using your Apple TV, do you get to the Activation Code screen or does it error out before that?

Sorry for the delay.  I get two options, one is the numerical code with the url to enter that code and the QR code.  I don't see an error message.

Let's go ahead and take a deeper look at your account details, Could you please send us a direct message with your first and last name and complete address.

 

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

 

Click "Sign In" if necessary

 

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

 

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 

Press Enter to send it
