xfinity stream app login failure

I am stuck in an endless login loop. When I login to the Xfinity Stream app from my Apple TV boxes, I see "success", and then a black screen with a notice that I must use an Xfinity network… But I am on an Xfinity network! When will Xfinity repair this broken app? Has Xfinity abandoned the Stream app?

@user_du1r42 Hello and good afternoon. Thanks for posting and sharing your experience. I hope you are having a good day before the weekend. It has been too hot, and the fall weather needs to arrive soon so we can have nice weekends. We know how important it is to access your entertainment when you are able to relax. It is the way I catch up on my news and shows, its vital for my home 24/7. Try a different device to receive the code, and be sure to follow the instructions here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/stream-on-apple-tv-overview. It is the guide on connecting the Stream app to Apple TV, and has all the great details needed. Its one of my favorite guides to use, besides the Xfinity app. That is my favorite app to manage the account and services.

@XfinityBenny I just realized that the Xfinity Stream app requires the user not only to use the Xfinity network, but also to pay for Xfinity cable!

Why would anyone in his right mind pay Xfinity twice: once for internet, and also for "tv service"? They can watch the same content on dozens of internet media! In any case, Xfinity should make it clear that the app is only for cable subscribers.

user_du1r42, you do need to have an active TV service to access content on the Stream app. It's a great way to enjoy our channel lineups on any device you like and how you like. Plus, it saves money on equipment fees if you have smart TV's or elgible streaming devices. Were you looking to subcribe to any of our TV services?
