Xfinity is actively blocking streaming in Firefox.

Xfinity is actively blocking streaming in Firefox.

https://www.xfinity.com/stream/ • (Windows 10 desktop PC)

It hangs forever at the purple xfinity stream ... page.

xfinity stream was working previously in Firefox for years.

xfinity stream works fine in Microsoft Edge, in the Xfinity stream app on my Android cell phone, and through my Roku Ultra.
Netflix and HBO MAX and YouTube videos play just fine in my Firefox browser.

Many xfinity web pages also are missing content, especially trying to use Firefox to access account information, bill statements and pay my bill.
I am forced to use Microsoft Edge browser to retrieve my monthly bill.

Thank you XfinityOrlandoM, but sadly you must not have read my post.
All other playing apps can stream Xfinity content just fine at my location. (no Modem/Router/Device issues at my home)

I've already followed all of XfinityAirelle's advice to luced at:

Xfinity itself claims:

Xfinity Stream is available on:

Web: Windows and MacOS at xfinity.com/stream
Available on Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge browsers

user_skfupx posts that they have "the same problem".

I did find somewhere in this forum, that Xfinity has been aware of the problem, for SOME MONTHS!

Good evening @JAF94025, we are aware of a known issue affecting user's ability to stream on our website and our dedicated engineers are working on a fix. We appreciate your patience while our engineers work on a fix. In the meantime, have you tried using incognito mode?

Yes, I have indeed tried "Firefox Private Browsing" mode, to no avail.

It is altogether quite evident that Xfinity Comcast can give Two-Sh#@s about Customer Service.  From all the forums I have participated in, commenting on the inability to access online streaming, that Xfinity Comcast is struggling with the ever-increasing drop of their Subscriber base and why allow FREE access to streaming when they can limit the availability of streaming access compared to paid subscriptions!

No matter what browser you attempt....Safari, Bing, Edge, Firefox, Explorer, Chrome, Opera.....None will allow you to access Xfinity Streaming.

Just the "Purple Screen of Xfinity Death"

Now...It seems to getting worse with reports that with FireFox, you find that even pages are missing or truncated when you try to access your own Xfinity website.

I've had it with Xfinity...After 2 months of this closure of streaming...I'm calling Xfinity to 1) get a reduction of my monthly invoice and 2) the second call is to FiberOne to see if they can service my area.

Either Xfinity does not have adequately skilled engineers to be able to repair the damage caused by their recent change to the 'streaming' code or that damage is intentional and in Xfinity's priorities.

This streaming failure is experienced by different customers with different browsers and has been reported since at least July 2025, as reported by:

My Streaming service had worked well for many previous months and years.
Please restore the code that had worked for Xfinity customers for years, at least until you can find the bugs introduced by your recent changes.
Or Xfinity could acknowledge that Streaming services are being cancelled.

As I suspected, it is xfinity, not me, that needs help.
This post has important details:

Someone pushed bad code or removed something on the back end.

EVERYONE!  STOP THE RUNNING IN CIRCLES WITH THIS ISSUE!!!

THERE ARE CLUES AND OPINIONS ON THIS "NON-STREAMING" XFINITY ISSUE IS THAT THIS BLOCKING IS DELIBERATE BY XFINITY....XFINITY REALIZED THAT THE FREE STREAMING WAS JUST TO GET THEIR CUSTOMER BASE "CAPTURED" AND ACCUSTOMED TO SUING THE XFINITY/COMCAST STREAMING AND THEN MOVE THEM TO A "FEE-BASED" SERVICE.

A GREAT MANY OF THE CUSTOMERS HAVE OPINIONATED THAT XFINITY CAME TO THE REALIZATION "WHY PASS UP A POTENTIAL LUCRATIVE REVENUE STREAM BY OFFERING UNLIMITED STREAMING" WHEN THEY CAN VERY WELL RETAIN PERHAPS 40-50% OF THEIR ESTABLISHED CUSTOMER BASES THAT WOULD PAY FOR THE MONTHLY STREAMING!!!!!

THE "LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE INTEREST" MERELY REFLECTS HE STRATEGY OF XFINITY/COMCAST TO MAKE YOU WANE DUE TO THE FRUSTRATION ON YOUR INABILITY TO STREAM AND TO RUN THIS FRUSTRATION UNTIL A TIME SUBSCRIBERS QUIT COMPLAINING AND ACCEPT THE FEE-BASED STREAMING PACKAGE.

QUIT XFINITY COMCAST AS SOON AS YOU CAN....START RUNNING AN ALTERNATE GMAIL EMAIL WITH YOUR OLD XFINITY EMAIL BEING FORWARDED TO YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT.  JUST OPT FOR A LOW MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION TO ANOTHER PROVIDER THAT HAS GOOD DOWNLOAD SPEEDS AND START CHERRY-PICKING THE STREAMING SERVICES THAT YOU WANT LIKE NETFLIX, PRIME, YOUTUBE PREMIUM, BRITBOX,, ACCORN AND YOU'LL BE WELL PLEASED AND HAVE MONEY TO SPARE!!!!!

@Anon1630388  Where do you get the impression the goal is to stop free streaming?  I am a paying premium package customer, and after the latest upgrade in Firefox, the streaming software hangs forever on the screen before the channel guide. This has nothing to do with free streaming.  Not that your point about excessive cost is invalid, it clearly is correct.   They are eventually going to choke off all customers, particularly if they cannot access anywhere anytime.
