Xfinity ID not working

I just spent an hour trying to get logged into Xfinity Stream.

Xfinity Stream kept saying my user id xxxxxxxx.comcast.net was not found.  Then it would try to find my user id using my street address and it would find xxxxxxxx.comcast.net which Xfinity Stream would again say was not valid.

After poking around trying to get into forums.xfinity.com, it made me change my password after saying I couldn't use my old password because I had already used it.  Then it said I had to have a password with a special character in it.  After all of that - everything kind-of started working - although my iPhone Xfinity Stream app has flaky logon issues.

Is Xfinity screwing around with the logon system for Xfinity?

I've been using the same ID for like 10 years.  Why am I having problems all of a sudden?
