Unable to authorize stream app on roku devices

I have a Roku enabled TV that was running the app fine. As of today, I got a roku stick for another tv in the house and tried setting up the app on that. Every time I go to authorize the code, it brings me to the “success” screen but then the tv says that I need a video service. I do have both internet and cable in my subscription.
And now my Roku TV is also disabled where I can’t get past that “success”/error screen combo.

My experience is exactly described in this previous thread.

It also seems that other people have had similar problems as well.
For the amount that I’m paying, it is very frustrating to have a platform that seems to consistently have the same problem over a long period of time.
