Unable to access Xfinity streaming from overseas

I am currently overseas on vacation. I Recently installed a Roku 4k stick on an lg tv. Downloaded the Xfinity streaming app. Anytime that I try to access any recorded program or live show I get the error code trap-00116. You have to use your home Xfinity wifi. I t gave the option of accessing the streaming app on my iPhone. I did with similar results ....

What is the point of a streaming app and remote access?...

As stated near the bottom of https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-tv-app-requirements under "International viewing":

Xfinity TV programs cannot be streamed outside of the United States. However, programs downloaded to your mobile device can be viewed offline anywhere*, even while you're in other countries. Learn more about cloud and Xfinity On Demand content for devices.

*Although you need to download them while in the US.
