Streaming

Streaming is becoming increasing worse with hang ups and "attempting to resume" errors being a nightly occurrence. I'm even having issues with regular tv service. Testing speeds is moot as they claim speeds of 118% and the computer is directly connected to the gateway. I have no issues streaming Paramount, Amazon Prime and YouTube, just Xfinity program TV.

@Vinnie1 Is the streaming issue within the Xfinity Stream app? What troubleshooting steps have you taken from your end? Is the issue on multiple devices or a specific one? Do you notice the issue while connected to the in-home network or to other networks as well?

The streaming is done on a desktop only. I've done the basic reboots, changed the ethernet cable etc. This only applies when streaming xfinity network programs. I have no issues with paramount, youtube or amazon prime. We aslo have issues with regular tv.

Mostly the screen freezing or scrambling for several seconds.

Since you've already done the standard reboots and ethernet swaps, could you try streaming in an Incognito window? If it works, a browser extension (like an ad-blocker) is likely conflicting with the Xfinity player.

 

For the TV scrambling, has there been any troubleshooting done? If not, on your TV remote, press the 'A' button and select 'System Refresh.' This is deeper than a standard reboot, it re-syncs your boxes with the local hub and can often clear up scrambling and freezing.

No difference in incognito mode and I have done the system refresh a coupe times in the last 2 weeks.
