streaming problems

For about a week or two now I have been unable to stream programs on demand or tv programs I have recorded or live TV on the xfinity site - either the app or at xfinity.com/stream. The streaming either doesn't work at all or only works for a few seconds then stops and buffers and continues this way - a few seconds play and then buffers. Sometimes the sound will continue but the picture stops. My internet speed is very fast, streaming works fine on all other streaming apps like Netflix etc. I am on a Macbook pro, using Chrome but I have tried on Safari and Foxfire and also on the app on my iPhone and the same thing happens. We have two xfinity accounts because we have two houses and this happens with both accounts whether we are on the home network or not for the accounts. I have tried clearing my cache numerous times. I have called comcast but they didn't do anything. Any ideas??? Before a week to two weeks ago I could stream fine - never any problem. the whole site seems to be running slowly - pages load slowly - like the TV schedule loads slowly but the streaming is basically nonfunctional.

Greetings, @user_09001b! Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with Xfininty Stream, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

You mentioned this was happening on multiple devices, and with different network and/or data connections. Are you able to view channels you subscribe to on a cable box, or is your account set up for streaming only?

Thank you for replying. I can watch the channels I am subscribed to on the cable box and sometimes I can stream the channels live. The biggest problem is that recordings and on demand don't stream. Sometimes it seems live channels don't stream either but sometimes they are fine - recordings and on demand don't stream or at best they stream with lots of buffering - like buffering every 10 seconds or less. For years streaming has been fine and it just suddenly stopped working.

thanks for any help you can offer.

@user_925563 Thanks for the reply with details. Hmm, sometimes restarting the modem can help with that. If that's been done, let's take a closer look at the account. Could you please click on the chat icon in the top right-hand corner, then search for Xfinity Support. Please make sure to provide your full name and service address.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I just looked up my modem on the Xfinity site and it says it is not supported. It used to be.... and I seem to get good speeds over it but it is very old so I am buying a new modem which is coming next week and will try that - if that doesn't work I will get back to you.

@user_09001b, that's great news to hear! I'm glad you're able to stream your recordings now. Were you able to update your new modem with us as well? Did you have any other concerns that I can help you with?
