Streaming from Roku app when not on my home network

I have an RV and would like to stream from my roku app using my phone's hot spot when I am away from my home.  Is it true that this is not possible?  I can stream on my PC, IPhone or IPad, but not a Roku?

Where is the logic in this?

Very frustrating for this long time customer paying comcast over $300/mon.

Hey there, user_6ec87a. Thank you for taking the time to post.

I found some great information from one of our experts that better explains why you are unable to stream on your Roku device when away from home. This is not a feature that is yet available, hopefully this can change in the future!

Xfinity, I realize this is an old post, but I've run into this problem (And I do consider it a problem as the Xfinity Streaming app the only streaming app I use that won't let me use it away from my home email) (And I'm fully aware of Xfinity Stream TV Go).

There could be a "second email address" choice where users could pay (a little) extra for the option to use the app at a second email address. More revenue. That should ring a bell with someone in upper corporate, I would think....:o))

Hello, thank you for taking the time to reach out for assistance. I understand you are having some issues streaming. There are some instances where you must be connected to your home network if using the Xfinity Stream app. That could be the issue you are running into. I would also suggest uninstalling then reinstalling the app to ensure you have the most up-to-date version. Have you done so already?

I no longer work for Comcast.
