Stream using Apple TV

Why can’t I use my Apple TV to stream when I am on my in home network? I get the message that I can only stream on my iPad or iPhone.

Yes I am trying to stream using the Xfinity Stream app on my Apple TV device.

If you are in your home and connected to your home network the Xfinity stream app should be working. @user_1f508j have you attempted to try the Xfinity stream app on any other device in the home?

It works on my iPad and iPhone. Just not the Apple TV

1. I get the initial Xfinity stream screen to Sign in

2. I press sign in and get the Two ways to sign in screen

3. either way I choose, I go through the process to sign in using my phone 

4. I sign in successfully on my phone (and get the success message)

5. Then on the TV streaming app I get a Welcome! “ This device can only access Xfinity Stream on your in-home Xfinity Wi-Fi. Use the app on your smart phone tablet or laptop to watch on the go anytime you like”


the Apple TV, the TV, my phone…everything is connected to my WiFi. 

that’s the process that occurs every time. I’ve tried rebooting everything but get the same message over and over.
