Stream Live TV thru Apple TV or Sony Smart TV

Question

I recently switched to Xfinity. I have one TV that is not wired to any Xfinity box. When I subscribed, I was told that I would be able to stream live TV to this remove TV via Apple TV or the TV itself (a Sony smart TV). I have not been able to figure out how to do this. Thoughts?
