Roku Xfinity stream authorize loop madness!!!

I signed out of my Xfinity stream app on my tcl Roku tv and when I attempted to sign back in I'm stuck in the constant loop of entering the number, clicking authorize, getting a success and then the tv goes right back to the sign in screen.   This is insane.  I get that the app is in beta, but I'm not the only one having this issue.

To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it
