Comcast has a beautiful app for iphone and android devices. So much better than digital set-top box user interface and it offers more content than 'On demand.' Are there any plans to make an Xfinity player channel on Roku? Why is what you offer on a laptop or mobile device better than what you offer on TV?

Comcast is not going to answer. However, I suspect they will not offer the tv experience outside of the setboxes they provide (for a fee of course) is that they do not want it to be convenient for their customers to view extra programming outside their boxes. The iPhone, iPad and droid devices are "convenient" but not overly so, and you can't natively stream from them to the tv.The PC can be used to view on the tv, but only by forgoing use of the pc while watching the programming. It's about money and control. I suggest you find a vendor that will allow you to view television YOUR way, not theirs. There are several out there, and several of us in this forum have made that jump already.

Our xBox 360 gives a beautiful picture with HBO Go (or anything else)...nice HD picture on a 52-inch screen.

If fact, due to HBO Go not being availble on my Roku (nor of course xFinity content), I am thinking of getting a 2nd xBox, JUST TO STREAM VIDEO...well, that or switch to Dish.

I mean...how sad the Comcast ignores the Roku.  

Isn't that illegal?  We pay for content but can't access it as we please?  If the content is paid for, why does Comcast care how a subscriber accesses the content?

Anyway, out xBox works great.

I agreed with some of what they said in that video. Lets just be carefull not to go down the socialist path. what ever solution is used it must have the open market at its heart.

How much does their "live" service cost to stream?

XBOXLIVE Gold service is about 60 bucks a year. Sometimes you can get deals. I was offered 2 years for 89 bucks. Usually you get a gold sub card with a new purchase of a console usually 12 months.

Dont think that if comcast wants to block the ASUS BOX or The SONY one they wouldn't hesitate. They can input code when starting the stream to look for specific hardware in the same way they block HDMI out on some devices. Or pull Android support alltogather. Would be interesting to see if they would have the guts to shut down android. So many people have androids.

It's not "live"...it's a collections of stuff from most of the cable/nmetwork channels?  I am not 100% familiar with it, but it's included with your Comcast bill...no extra cost.

Of course a person has to have an "xBox Live" account...about $50/year to access video and music streaming thru the xBox, but if a person otherwise is using xBix Live for gaming and such, then it's really not an "extra" to view Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, etc.

This is not true. HBOGo currently offers a much larger lineup of programming than Comcast/Xfinity on demand (at least in my area).  For additional televisons, if you don't have a Comcast/Xfinity cable box, prepare to spend an additional 9 or 10 bucks a month.  Note that the digital transport adapters which are around 2 bucks a month do not support on demand or any premium channels and have very limited functionality to say the least (No on screen program guide, on demand, or HD)
