Playback through Xfinity streaming web site while recording won't fast forward or rewind

I am experiencing an Xfinity Stream playback issue on my Windows PC using Microsoft Edge at xfinity.com/stream. When I watch a DVR recording that is still in progress, pressing fast-forward or rewind, or moving the playback slider, sends the recording back to the beginning. Completed recordings work normally, and the same in-progress recordings work correctly on my iPad. This appears to be an issue with the web player. Please confirm whether there is an active engineering investigation and whether a fix is available.

Thank you

Thanks for posting on our community forums, user_12tj1b. Is this happening on all browsers? Have you tried clearing the cache and cookies? Or using an incognito page to see if that makes a difference?

It is happening with Chrome and Edge, I have tried the incognito windows and clearing the cash. I have also tried this on more than one laptop. I can tell you that I can watch normally on the Xfinity apps on my ipad, my iphone, and all of the tv's in my house. The only time this issues appears is when I am going through the Xfinity.com website.

Do I need to repeat the entire text or will it be sent by you. Are you going to open a service ticket? Would you have a number I should reference?

Thanks for the responses. It turns out that the reason for the playback problem is that Xfinity no longer provides that service on anything that is not through the DVR box or there Xfinity App. The real issue is that Xfinity did not inform the technical support group. Unfortunately, I spent upwards of 10 hours over 2 days, online chatting with tech support (including being bumped up to the highest level #4 of tech support) only to have them send a tech to my house. The technician was very nice and had to call his manager to find out the real reason this no longer worked on my PC. That is when I got the answer.

I hope by offering this response I prevent someone from wasting the time that I wasted finding out something that all of the techs should have known, and I as a customer should have been told about in advance.

Oh yah, by the way, I did not receive a reduction in my bill to coincide with the reduction in service.

I have been a loyal customer of Comcast/Xfinity for around 40 years and think we all should be treated a little better than this. I will be exploring my options to move to another service provider.

user_12tj1b. Thank you for taking the time to share what you ultimately learned. I can completely understand your frustration, especially after spending upwards of 10 hours over two days troubleshooting, escalating through multiple levels of support, and having a technician come out before you were given an explanation. That’s a lot of time and effort to put into getting an answer. We also appreciate you sharing the outcome here so others who may be experiencing something similar have the benefit of your experience. After being with us for around 40 years, we certainly don’t want you to feel that your loyalty is being overlooked. If you’d like, we can also review your account and current services with you to see what options may be available regarding your monthly cost. Could you please send our team a Direct Message with your name and service address? Our team can take a further look.

I have the same issue today. I recorded The Five today while I finished some other online work and a short time later I tried to watch the recording. I could watch recording as expected until I tried to skip over a commercial. Then the recording always reverts to the beginning. I tried to watch the recording after the show had ended and the playback worked normally. Just can't watch and skip forward while the show is recording. I'm using Windows PC with Chrome browser. PS: I noticed the recording says "LIVE".
