Picture Quality

Wondering why, technically speaking, the Comcast picture is not where near the quality of a streaming app like say Apple TV?  Comparing pictures during baseball games for example it’s not even close. The Apple TV stream is remarkably HD with insane clarity. Comcast’s is just dull. We pay a premium for Comcast as most of you know. Why can’t they get their picture quality as good as the streaming apps??

@MikiG19 Good afternoon! Thank you for reaching out to our Community Forums Team for assistance with your picture quality. I can see how the variance in picture would be frustrating. I would be honored to assist you with getting some answers to your concerns today. Can you tell me what kind of device you are on, when you are accessing the Xfinity Stream App? It is a desk top computer, laptop, tablet?

I noticed streaming via web browser limits video to 540p 30fps. It doesn't matter what browser I choose; they all are limited.

Hello, @user_b67596 and others on this thread seeking assistance. Can you please provide a bit more on the situation? Is this happening on all streaming platforms with our service, stream app, stream website on a computer, or on the Roku service? Currently there are no known issues, but we want to investigate this and find all of you a resolution ASAP.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Bumping, this has been an issue for over a year. The streams through xfinity.com max at 720P. this is NOT HD. This was a decision made by comcast to reduce the quality of the services offered. It's not new, it's all over this forum. Comcast will pretend it's local to you and then send tech after tech after tech out. After confirming that your S2N is good, everything LOOKS good, and you can stream the same content in MUCH BETTER QUALITY from espn.com (logged in via comcast with the xfinity logo and everything) they claim it's a problem at your house and schedule work out for weeks. Never solves the problem because no problem exists. Comcast made the decision to limit these streams and didn't tell us or offer us a discount.
I'd show you all, it's obvious when both streams are running side by side. But Comcast prevents you from taking screen shots and thus providing evidence :D

Comcast - tell us what your streams SHOULD be and we can all confirm. The responses have been the same for years now. SAD
