Opinion on the beta app for Samsung Smart TV's

This is more general feedback than a question.

I have a Samsung smart TV on which I watch the Xfinity Stream App and since this forum is for feedback I felt like I would give mine after using it for about a 18 months now.

1st - As to be expected with just about any beta, this App is pretty glitchy, however, I would have expected updates to fix those glitches over the course of a year and a half, but I haven't notice any improvements in the app at all.  Often DVR or on demand programs will not play.  Sometimes, the on demand will list that there are more episodes available than actually appear when you enter the episode list.  Often a show will just randomly stop playing and go back to the menu for no apparent reason and the show must be restarted from the beginning.  Sometimes when you go to Browse shows some functions are missing such as the "View All" selection for the individual days (i.e. Thursday night shows). I'm sure there is more, but I just cannot recall them right now.

2nd - The Interface is really clunky.  On "Live TV" why is it required to scroll through the menu and click on the show you want to watch only to have to click it again on the next screen to "Watch".  Yes I want to watch it or I would have clicked on it to begin with.  I understand that is where you have also placed the Record function but that should be done better.   When deleting programs for the DVR it requires so many redundant button pushes I get Carpel-tunnel just deleting one show, so if I have a list of episodes saved that need to be deleted, it feels like it takes almost as much time to delete them as to watch them.  "Browse" has the same issue of way to many button pushes to actual get a show to play.  It would be much better to have the "Search" function on the "Browse" menu somewhere.  I like that there is the "Last Watched" on the main menu, but it would be better to have a link to the entire series rather than just the episode so it would be faster to get to the next episode of that show, or at least have a link from that episode to the series or next episode within that link.

3rd - I'm not sure if there is a way for me to obtain more room for recordings but the recording space on the DVR is VERY low.   It is only around 20 hours and that could be eaten up very quickly.  I have looked to see if there was a place to purchase more DVR space (Not that I would pay very much at all for that) but have not been able to locate anywhere that might be available.  You need to offer at least 50 hours of recording space.

Greetings, @user_4b5ebc! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I really appreciate your feedback on the Samsung Smart TV app.

Samsung was actually one of the very first smart TVs to carry the Xfinity Stream app, and I'm glad to see that it is still being so widely utilized. I really liked your thoughts about how the navigation could be improved, and I will definitely pass that along. I know exactly what you mean about the redundant button presses. It would be great of some of those navigation steps could be combined somehow.

I know there is a way to expand DVR recording time on the cloud when you have a dedicated DVR box, but I haven't seen any options to expand the standalone record time beyond 20 hours. I should be able to submit a ticket to have that looked into, if you like. There may be something in development that hasn't been announced yet, but it never hurts to remind our developers what features are important to our customers.

@ComcastJamesH yes, please do have the developers look into the DVR time as I do not have a set top box, my programing is strictly through the xfinity app.
