Newsmax Channel Constantly Freezing

Starting on 12/22/2025 while watching Newsmax on the Xfinity Stream App Newsmax has been constantly freezing.  I have to back out of the channel and hit watch.  Channel plays for a short time and freezes repeatedly.  I use both a Roku 4K Express and a Roku stick to watch TV programs through the Xfinity Stream App.  On 12/22/25 the Newsmax Channel started freezing for no reason.  It occurs on both devices.  There is no such issue like this on other channels in my package.  I have been using these devices for over three years now and have never had an issue like this with a particular channel.

I have wasted so much time in trying to resolve this issue.  Unplugging my modem and restarting along with the router.  Restarting the devices over and over again to no avail.  Deleteing the XFinity stream all and reinstalling numerous times.  The same thing happened in February of 2025.  It took over two weeks to resolve that problem.

I also have an Apple TV device and watching Newsmax through the XF Streaming App results in buffering.  Watching Newsmax through the XFinity Stream app on my Apple IPhone results in minor buffering but no freezing.  Watching Newsmax thru the XF Stream app on my desktop there are no problems.  I have called Newsmax directly and was informed that they were not experiencing any issues with their streaming broadcast.

This is a very frustrating issue and Newsmax is one of the channels that we spend much time watching.  I have been a Comcast customer for over 41 years, and a so called "Diamond" customer.

This seems to be a problem between XFinity and Roku and the engineers have to figure it out.  If XFinity is really serious about not losing a customer such as myself, this problem better be investigated and resolved quickly.  I am at my wits end.

Anybody else experiencing these issues?

Same thing has been happening to me for about 5 days.  I use Roku Express. The only channel freezing is Newsmax.

New update regarding this Newsmax debacle.  I just had the nicest technician come out as scheduled.  He checked all the outside lines.  All GOOD.  All in the green.  This is an APP issue.  To recap... Newsmax does not work on either of my Roku sticks, via the Xfinity App.  The channel will open and run and freeze after a varying amount of time.  If I leave it on, it "might" restart, it might not.  ALL other channels on the Xfinity app work fine.  I am able to watch Newsmax2 via the Newsmax app on my Roku....no issues.  I can stream Newsmax thru the Xfinity app on my laptop and my Android phone.  It does not freeze.  My Roku Stick gave me a message that the Newsmax channel via Xfinity Stream had frequent buffering and to check connection.....I did a Network connection test on my stick several times.  Wireless signal was Excellent.  Download speeds were 88, 100 and 96 mbps with 3 different checks.  I've reset my Roku stick.  I've turned off my router and restarted it.  I uninstalled the Xfinity App on the stick and reinstalled.  NO CHANGE.  There is a software issue between Roku and the Xfinity Stream app specific to the Newsmax channel on the Xfinity Stream app. Your software engineers need to get this figured out, just like you did back in Feb 2025 when this happened before.

Just like I said in my original post.  How 'bout that.  Comcast just doesn't listen to their customers.  It's a plain and simple fact.

Second update: there seems to be progress today Tuesday 12/30.  I've been viewing Newsmax on my Roku for 42 minutes before it froze.  BUT that interruption was a Roku update (which happens periodically, so that's a normal thing).  After that was done I've put Newsmax back on and will see how it goes.  42 min of uninterrupted viewing is the best it's been since this all started.  Note: I did get a private direct message this AM that the issue was being moved along.  (yesterday's msg) Thank you for your patience xxxxxx and for letting us know how the visit went. I'm sorry to hear that your issues with Newsmax still has not been resolved. We can reach out to our advanced repair team to see if they can get this over to our engineering team. To confirm, in case they need to reach out to you directly, is the best contact number still the one ending in xxxxx that you provided earlier?  (And this morning's msg) Thank you, xxxxxx. I have a request over with the repair team being tracked under xxxxxxxxx. It may take a few days for the team to investigate the issue, but I will send you any updates we receive to help figure out why Newsmax keeps freezing with the roku sticks.   Anyone else here have any improvement in your service????

@user_leeik2 a bit of an improvement this morning. Not freezing as much. I'm able to watch it for longer intervals. Might be improving!

I’ve been screaming from the rooftops since 12/22/25 that the problem is on Comcast’s end.    This is  the second community forum that I started on this exact same issue.  The initial one was in 02/2025 It  didn’t get resolved until Mid-March. 2025.  Same song and dance from Comcast then and now.

service issues appear to have been solved for me.  I've been watching this afternoon and 3 hrs of uninterrupted viewing.  What's happening for everyone else???
