linking an existing Netflix account

I recently signed up for Stream Saver and want to link my existing netflix account to this service, but it keep prompting me to create a NEW netflix account. I was able to link my existing peacock and apple TV accounts with no issues. Any help with linking my existing account would be appreciated.

@user_k724um - That sounds frustrating! It's a common issue when linking an existing Netflix account to an Xfinity bundle like Stream Saver, but it should definitely be possible. The key is to make sure you're using the correct activation path and your existing email. Here are the step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting tips to link your existing Netflix account:

1. The Official Activation Link Method
The most reliable way is often using the dedicated activation link from Xfinity:

- Log in to your Xfinity Account: Make sure you are logged into your primary Xfinity account on a web browser.

- Visit the Netflix Activation Page: Go directly to: xfinity.com/activate-netflix

- Click Activate Netflix: This should redirect you to a Netflix-branded activation page.

- Enter Your Existing Netflix Email: This is the most crucial step. When prompted, use the exact email address associated with your current, existing Netflix account. Entering this email should trigger Netflix to recognize you have an active account and prompt you to sign in rather than create a new one.

- Enter Your Password: Enter your existing Netflix password.

- Confirm Your Plan: You should be given an option to keep your existing plan (if it's Standard or Premium) or switch to the plan included with Stream Saver.

- Accept & Watch Now: Confirm the details to complete the linking, and your Netflix billing should transfer to your Xfinity bill.

2. Troubleshooting the "Create New Account" Prompt
If the above steps still push you to create a new account, try these common fixes:

- Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Old data in your web browser can sometimes interfere with the activation process, especially if you've tried it before. Clear your cache and cookies, or try using an Incognito/Private window in your browser.

- Check the Email from Xfinity: Look for the activation email Xfinity should have sent you after signing up for Stream Saver. It often contains a specific "Activate Now" button that might work better than going directly to the website. Check your spam or junk folder.

- Use the Xfinity App or Subscriptions Page:

Log into your Xfinity account on the web or the Xfinity app.

Navigate to your Subscriptions Hub (sometimes found at xfinity.com/yoursubscriptions or under Account > Services).

Look for the Stream Saver package and the Netflix listing. There should be a link or button to Activate or Manage the service. Use that link to start the process.

3. Alternative: Activating Via Your Xfinity TV Box (X1 or Flex)
If you have an Xfinity X1 or Flex TV Box, this method often bypasses web-related errors:

- Launch the Netflix App: Say "Netflix" into your Xfinity Voice Remote or find the app in the menu.

- The app should detect you have a Netflix subscription through your Xfinity package and prompt you to Sign In or Link Account rather than start fresh.

- Choose the Sign In/Link Account option and use your existing Netflix email and password.

If none of these steps work, it may indicate a provisioning issue on our backend, so let us know how things go!
