iMac speakers not playing audio of saved programs

I am watching "saved" programs using an iMac on my home network.

The audio portion of the recordings works for 1 - 2 seconds and then cuts out completely; however, I can access the audio if I listen using my Air Pods.

Live streaming TV and all other Apps - such as Pandora, Netflix, Prime Video - on the same iMac  deliver both audio and video  when I select the iMac built in speakers.

The same saved programs when viewed on my I-Pad and I-phone all work correctly.

I updated all my software and re-set / restarted the modem, the Xfinity X1 box and the iMac.  Nothing has helped.

Xfinity's chat app simply does not address this problem.  Please any help or recommended next steps would be appreciated.

Please note, because there is no Xfinity App for iMac, I access all functions using the browser version of Xfinity Stream .

Thank you

This is exactly what is happening to me and I have rebooted several times, etc.  No luck!

Since it has been a couple of days, I wanted to see if you're still experiencing the issues with the audio when viewing on your iMac.

Hey there, since you have already narrowed the issue down to being exclusive to your computer, have you tried to clear your browser cache and cookies, or using a different browser?

I cleared the cash and cookies to no avail. This is on safari and chrome.

Now my Roku is not working with it correctly. It will go to  Xfinity it will not connect and bounces back to the Home Screen.

I have been having the exact same issue, but only on Safari. Works perfectly well on Chrome and on my phone. Can't hear through any headphones either. Just spoke with a tech support specialist from Xfinity who is troubleshooting and sending my ticket up for an escalation since I let him know that there are several of us who have been having the same issue over the past week. Hopefully, someone in engineering can figure out what needs to be updated in order to correct the issue.
