I have to sign out and sign in to get local channels on fire stick

Using the xfinity stream app on a fire stick I have to sign out and sign in to get local channels

Hello user_z54msv! Thanks for taking the time to reach out on our Forums. We value you being a customer with us and my team is here to support you. 

 

Just to be sure I understand, in order to access local channels through the Xfinity Stream app on your Firestick, you must first log out of the app and then log back in to successfully watch, is that correct?

 

Also, does this occur every time you access the Stream app on your Firestick? For troubleshooting purposes, are you experiencing this on any other device?

Correct. I can’t access the local CBS, ABC, and Fox stations while I’m out of town at my vacation home unless I sign out then back in to my xfinity account. It happens  the majority of the time but not always.

Got it @user_z54msv, thanks for clarifying that information! That's odd that this only occurs sometimes. Did this recently just start to happen, or has this always occurred on your end? When connected to your in-home Wi-Fi, do you still run into this? 

 

Appreciate your help with troubleshooting this and trying to get to the bottom of it.

@user_z54msv The reason we ask is that Xfinity Stream only allows five concurrent streams across all account devices for X1 customers. Only three of these devices can be off the customer’s in-home Wi-Fi network. The Xfinity Stream app is available on most Amazon Fire TV devices. For supported versions, see Xfinity Stream App minimum system requirements. Visit the Amazon App Store to download the latest version. Let us know if you've already eliminated these reasons for the live channel issue.
