I'm having the exact same issue with my Vizio. It'll start the stream and within 2 seconds it'll close

@

If anyone is having some concerns with their Xfinity Stream app we are happy to take a look with you! We would just need you to send us a DM, and you can do that by following these directions:

To send a direct message you may need to:

Click "Sign In"

Click the "direct message" icon

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

I don’t know where to “sign in” to. I cannot find the direct message icon to start a new message to send to you.  I have two VIzio TV’s that are both having issues whether I try airplay or casting.  Constant interruptions, sometimes just stops then starts over, or just stops period.  VERY frustrating.

Hi, @user_e6d7d1. Thank you for reaching out and creating a new post regarding this matter. I understand you are having some issues with the Stream App on your Vizio TV. I know that some may have a built-in Chromecast based on similar threads. Is that the case for your as well?

If so, can you confirm if your device has any of the following versions of Chromecast:

  • Chromecast 1st gen, Chromecast 2nd gen, Chromecast 3rd gen
  • Chromecast 4th gen (Chromecast with Google TV)
  • Chromecast Ultra Google Nest Hub

You can also visit this link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-stream-app-faqs about the partnet devices that are compatablit with the Stream App. Let me know if you have any questions.

@XfinityVianney

my issue is NOT my ability to cast to my Vizio. I know how to make it cast. The PROBLEM IS THAT XFINITY STREAM APP WILL NOT STAY CASTING for more than a few seconds. I do also already have Xfinity 1 cable and Xfinity WiFi.
So once again ….. you “support people” have NOT ANSWERED or solved the issue that we are all still having.  Just giving us the same old “fixes” that DO NOT WORK! Figure it out please….. we are paying a lot for your services, without being able to use them.

I hear you, @user_e6d7d1. I get that casting isn't the issue, but it's the overall performance. It sounds like it could be the version of the Chromecast or a compatibility issue. You can reach me on your post as well, so we can go over the specifics of your situation on your post here https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/xfinity-stream-website/help-with-casting-to-a-vizio-tv/639fd25d86efae732c842a1f

These are the messages I received when trying to cast. Hopefully they can give you an idea of whatvis happening with the chrome cast. Everyone I have talked to at Xfinity (including you) gives me a different answer of what the problem could be……or that there isn’t a problem. We are at a loss to know what to do or believe. It worked and now it doesn’t. Honestly that’s all we should have to know as a paying customer. Xfinity should be figuring it out.

I'm having the same problem.  I've unplugged,  reset the TV to factory settings,  uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

I am having the same exact problem.  It started about 3-months ago, and it was right after the Xfinity streaming app (automatically) updated itself.  In fact, there is always an issue with the Xfinity app after every update.  When it finally starts working again, it's time to find a way to turn off updating for the Xfinity application.
