Getting error message: Upgrade failure. Please restart the application

Receiving this message when launching the Xfinity Stream App on all of my TVs.   I have a mix of Samsung and LG TVs and am using the Firestick 4k+ for streaming.  If I exit the error and launch again it will work, but the error returns next time I turn on the TV and launch.    I have cleared data and cache from the app but still get the error.

My version is 8.15.0.3646 and it is still showing the upgrade failure on my 2 TVs. Please fix this one as well xfinity!

It would appear the version of the Xfinity App you have is downlevel.  The most recent version is 8.15.1.3747. Xfinity just pushed that update out 2 days ago when everyone started posting about this problem, me included.

Now that they updated the App you will need to get your devices updated with that version.  Xfinity can’t do that for you.  If you don’t know how to update the app on your device(s) the best thing to do would be to uninstall the app on your device, go to the Amazon App Store and download the Xfinity App again and that should be the latest version.  Hope that helps.

No assistance required and thank you for removing the very vulgar comments from one of the Users I tried to help.  I hope that individual was banned from the forum.  There no place here for that kind of nasty vulgarity towards other Users.

That’s crazy.  My set up is the same.  Both firestick software and Xfinity App latest versions yet the latest Xfinity stream app update fixed my issue but not yours.  At this point couldn’t even imagine what the fix would be.  Sounds to me like Xfinity support needs to engage with Amazon support to try and figure it out.  The Xfinity reps monitoring here need to get this escalated to higher level of support. I’ve been there on a different issue ☹️

@Xfinity is there any progress on correcting?   I just cleared cache - data - uninstalled - forget network - turned off TV removed firestick (for 30 min) -connected stick directly to Xfinity WiFi - restarted firestick - installed app and still nothing but the 3 dots on the screen trying to load the app.

@user_12zf0r Thanks for troubleshooting. Does it continue if you reset the stick to default and factory settings?
