Fox News

I have a smart tv on my patio & use a wireless Xfinity router with it. I have no issues except I can’t connect to Fox News using the app. It will take me directly to Fox Weather or I can get Fox Go which is not  the live Fox News channel (839). I have no issues using my older TVs inside my home which are connected to a regular router. Can you please resolve as I love using my patio to watch Fox News. Thank you!

Is there an Xfinity Stream app available for that Smart TV? If so, you may have to use that app to get to the Fox News Channel.

I am using their app & have tried deleting & downloading again but that didn’t work. What’s so odd is that several months ago the app worked fine but then stopped about 3-4 weeks ago.

Yes. I still can’t get Fox News on my Fire TV using the app. I sent an email to Fox but have not gotten a resolution.

Thank you for letting us know, @user_ve688c!  We will get to the bottom of this so you can enjoy watching on your patio once again! The channel is available for in home streaming. Have you checked that the internet is connected to your home network on your Fire TV and not on a hotspot? If you try to go to channel 37 in the Xfinity Stream app, is the channel missing or do you get an error message or code when you try to access it?

I’m using a wireless router on my patio. I can get all the same channels as I do inside except for Fox News. I don’t know how to go to ch 37 in the X stream app? I just click on the app but it doesn’t show what channel it is. When I do get an error message it says it’s a service provider problem. Xfinity was working in our neighborhood today. I’ve tried to get Fox on my patio hoping it was resolved. It gave me the errror message but after several minutes Fox came on but it’s 21/2 hours behind the Fox station I get on my inside TV. So what gives?

Morning. I just came outside & clicked on the Fox News app & it came on. The only problem is that it’s 10:55 am in Atlanta & I’m getting the Fox News show that was broadcasted last night at 9:05 pm.. I so appreciate your help in trying to resolve this issue!! I’m at a loss & the local Xfinity store is of no help. I guess I could schedule a service call w Xfinity but was trying to avoid the expense. So many thanks for your help!

To clarify, you're using the Fox News app on your Fire TV and it is showing roughly 13 hours behind schedule? Earlier you mentioned you were having troubles with the Fox News channel within the Xfinity Stream app and wanted to make sure we're on the same page with offering troubleshooting assistance.

I may not be stating it correctly due to my lack of knowledge in this field. When I turn on my tv I use the remote voice command & request Fox News. It takes me to a line up of various shows/apps? & I click on the Fox News app/box/logo. As of this morning, Fox NEWS came on but as previously mentioned it  was showing the previous night’s

Sean Hannity show. So, something changed but it’s not showing the live broadcast. Hope this clarifies. Thank you.

user_ve688c, I see, thank you for confirming those details. It sounds like you're accessing a Fox News app directly, is that correct? The only streaming app that we have is our Xfinity Stream App. Are you able to access that app on your Fire TV?

Thanks for all your help! I dont understand the difference between “accessing the Fox News app directly” vs accessing it “via the streaming app on the fire tv”.

user_ve688c, The Fox News app would be a separate 3rd party app that we don't provide support for. The Xfinity Stream app is something that I could help with, so it's important we're on the same page and working on the correct platform. This hyperlink can help with more information on the Stream App. Are you able to confirm which app you're accessing?

Hi. Right now I’m totally confused as to whether I’m accessing the Fox News or the streaming app. I think I got the App Store app & downloaded what  may be the streaming app. It gave me a code to enter on the Xfinity.com/connect web site which I did. I then selected my (Xfinity) provider and entered my sign in password & it gave me access. I’m actually watching the channel right now. I hope when I leave this channel & try to get back to that it I get back to the right place. You have been a world of help & w/o your guidance I’d never have gotten this far! Hope I don’t have to bug you again but today you have made me a happy camper! 😀

user_ve688c I'm glad @XfinityMarcos was able to help. It sounds like you're using the Fox News App. Third-Party apps will ask you to log in with your provider and verify your subscription the first time around. After that just open the app directly. You might need to sign in again once in a while, but you’re good to go!
