Favorites category missing in app on my tv

Yesterday evening, I had to re-sign into the streaming app on my TV. After I did, the homepage came up differently from before. It no longer has a category listed”Favorites” In the Live TV section.  To get to my favorite high definition channels I now have to scroll through all channels beginning with number one.

I have deleted the app and then turned off my TV.  When I turned the TV back on, I reinstall the app, but the Guide still does not have a Favorites section.

I then went back to the app on my iPhone  and removed my Favorite Channels and then reselected them as Favorites again.  When I checked for them in the app on my TV there was still no Favorites category in the Guide to show my selections.

I have run out of ideas. Please tell me how to fix this because it is tedious to go through all the channels to get to my high definition ones. Thank you.

Help!  Same thing happened to us and we heavily use the Favorites channels.  Also, can’t find the Smart Resolve setting that allows you to skip commercials.  Not liking the new app updates at all.  Can we switch back to the prior app version?

A number of people have also commented on this issue. When is Xfinity going to pay attention and resolve it?

user_usr176 Good morning! Thank you very much for the question. I am big on using the favorites option, and I wish I had a more functional solution for you to restore those preferences. Unfortunately, if the favorites have been cleared, the only way to get that back in motion is to manually rebuild the list. The easiest way is from the app or stream portal, that would give you a clear path to the rebuild within a few minutes depending on how many favorites you have to add. To do that, here are the steps:

  • Open the Xfinity Stream Portal on a computer or open the Xfinity Stream app.
  • Go to Live TV and navigate to All Channels.
  • Click the star icon next to your preferred channels to re-add them to your favorites.
  • Changes made here will generally sync back to your household X1 TV boxes. (Note: If they do not appear immediately, try un-starring and re-starring them, or give the sync a little time

Same here plus my app shows the time of the day off by 1/2 hour.  The people that create this stuff and then dump it on to the user should be fired.  Even the channel numbers suck compared to other people.  A channel 16 should be the same as 816 and the same as 1016 etc  It should never have been such a pain to navigate even before but now is way worse!

I just went through the same thing. NO FAVORITES anymore. This better get fixed fast or it will be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me. I have had enough of Comcast / Xfinity. The last app stalled all the time and it was not due to my internet service provider because Comcast is my provider. Plus I seen it happen on my neighbors TV as well. I will not scroll through 1000 channels to get to the one I want everytime. It would not surprise me if they did this on purpose to hopefully get you to watch some stupid channel you ignored before.

FIX IT COMCAST!!!!

Agreed i am not going to scroll thru 800 channels to get to the HD channels! That was always dumb to begin with which is why we use favorite channels! Fix this now! And you wonder why you keep losing customers.

I have a Samsung 2025 smart tv, but I doubt that the missing “Favorites” category is peculiar to that brand only.  Again, the xfinity app still shows that category when using it on my iPhone and my iPad.  Someone needs to take this issue seriously and repair this promptly.  There are a lot of disgruntled xfinity customers.

user_usr176 I'm sorry for this frustration. Looking at our recent updates, the Xfinity Stream app for Samsung TV devices was recently changed, and I am no longer showing that favorite channels are available. The app is different for each device, that is why you are still seeing the option on the apple iphone and ipad devices where it's not showing on the samsung device. I'm sorry that this update is not fitting your needs. I am happy to share your feedback with our developers.

When you launch the app on your Samsung TV, do you have an option for saved? If so, select that menu item and let me know if it's showing your favorite channels there please.

There is no option for “Saved” showing.  I scrolled through the entire Home section looking for it.

user_usr176 Thank you for checking for that option. I'm sorry it's not showing. Based on our support docs it looks like saved should be in the main menu.
I would like to grab some specifics about your TV and the current version of the Xfinity stream app that's running. Would you please send us a direct message with your name and service address? I can open a ticket with our teams to see if this is not working as intended and help get it fixed.

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon
In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support"
As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
Press Enter to send it.

@XfinityPaula

I tried to open a direct message to you, but when it asks me to select a conversation first, it cannot find this one and I am the original author.
