Subject: Request for Engineering Escalation — Xfinity Stream Logs Out on Firefox Tab Switch
I’m experiencing a reproducible authentication failure on Xfinity Stream in Firefox that does not occur in Chrome on the same PC, network, or account.
Steps to reproduce
-
Sign in to xfinity.com with “Keep me signed in” checked.
-
Navigate to Stream → Live TV → Favorite Channels.
-
Switch to another browser tab and return to Xfinity Stream.
-
The page redirects to the login screen, even after only a few seconds.
Environment: Windows 10, Firefox 158.0/158.0.1. Chrome works correctly under the same conditions. Wired static IPv4; no VPN.
Technical evidence: Firefox Network Monitor shows the Stream authentication endpoint (xerxes-sub.xerxessecure.com) returning HTTP 302 to oauth.xfinity.com, which then redirects to login.xfinity.com. The OAuth request is a top-level navigation and includes the existing authentication cookies. No HTTP 401 or 403 responses appear in the captured redirect chain.
I have already cleared site data, verified cookie settings, disabled Enhanced Tracking Protection for the relevant sites, disabled Firefox's Global Privacy Control setting, updated Firefox, and verified the system clock. The problem persists.
Request: Please escalate this case to the Xfinity Stream web engineering or identity/OAuth team to investigate why the xfinity-stream-login OAuth flow rejects or fails to recognize the existing session in Firefox following a tab switch.
This does not appear to be a routine password or cookie-clearing issue. I can provide a timestamped Network Monitor capture and a sanitized HAR file if needed.
Please provide a case number and confirm whether this can be referred to the appropriate engineering team.
