Failed by Xfinity multiple times over a months time
I had Xfinity Stream on my phone since it first came out, and have used Comcast/Xfinity for several decades. I had purchased movies from 2004ish to 2015 (on my phone). I was able to have access to my movies until a month ago, when I noticed "2111 code error" popping up and I was unable to play some movies. I looked up on troubleshooting on Xfinity sight and a suggestion was made to fix said problem was to uninstall and then reinstall the app. When I did that I lost all my movies (~40 movies, which I have all the names of). I text with support right away (Xfinity has ALL the transcripts) I was told this was a fixable issue, that they understood and for me not to worry. It just needed escalating and I would hear back in about 24/72 hours. I didn't hear back, no email, no call, no text. I reached out to them via text to support and got (we'll call him M) I was apologized to profusely, and told "it was a glitch in the system" as to why I don't have access to my movies, but NOT TO WORRY THEY CAN FIX THE ISSUE, after a bit of back and forth, M then said the only way to fix the issue is to give me a Xumo box. I told M I haven't a clue as to what that is or what that meant. M told me it's a streaming box that Xfinity would load my purchased movies on to and send to me, free of charge. I asked questions ; how long does this box last, are you sure you will have all my movies on there, how does it work?? I was comforted in all my questions and repeatedly told "don't worry, we are fixing this issue" I offered to give him the list of my movies in case several times. I was then told I will receive my box in 3 to 7 business days. I waited, and it did not come in that time frame.
Remember, there are transcripts. I then called to talk to a support person (3rd person I communicated with), let's call her S (I wrote all their names down), S offered apologizes, and I was told over and over not to worry, they can fix the issues. However, there were issues she said she didn't know how to fix without starting the whole process over. Up until this point, I told each individual many times I just didn't want to lose my purchased 40 movies, and every time I was told, they can fix it. I told them, when I purchased the movies as well (2004ish to 2015), expressing that it was ~$400 in purchases, probably more, I was told by each individual they understood, and are working on fixing it. S reordered the Xumo box, and I again said "it will
have my movies on it, correct?" I was told "I promise, they will be on your Xumo box." I kept track of case #'s, and names because now, my trust in Xfinity, was becoming bankrupt. I waited, no Xumo box. I called again and spoke to V, I was then told by V that S did not complete the transaction. At this point I'm so frustrated I could spit nails. Trying to remain calm, I explained what I had been told (all on transcripts), and V told me she had to cancel the order and start all over again. The next day, I received my Xumo box, without my movies on it, aaaand I was going to be charged to start the box. I called again and spoke to individual #5, "K", who told me I was DECEIVED by all of the other support staff I spoke to. That there was a 10 year max on purchased movies. I told her you can't retroactive policy to the time I purchased movies, which at that time there wasn't that policy and I was watching my movies a month ago. K was taken aback by my response. K also was much less sympathetic to my situation. Her response multiple times was, "there is nothing I can do" I pressed the issue about the "starting fee" to use my Xumo box, which I was told was going to be completely free to have and use. K reluctantly waved the fee, after I requested it. I then asked for a supervisor, because K was not looking for a means to solve the original issue, when before K , I was told there was. I then talked to a supervisor whose first name starts with S and was told that I would get credit for 40 movies in increments and that it would start by an initial $50 credit. I was happy with this and then the next day I got a call from another supervisor being number 7 whose first name starts with L saying none of that was true and that there was nothing he could do. I am extremely unhappy how x finity has handled my case. And I will be shopping for a new Internet. I just wanted to keep my 40 movies I said could you solve this by giving me credit and a supervisor told me yes then I was told by another supervisor who called me and said oh no and there's nothing they could do.

Also the apps that I had customized on my TV, so there wouldn't be commercials, now we're reinstalled on the new Xumo box WITH commercials. This was NOT explained to me nor was there an explanation of this, when I received my Xumo box. It is an awful ploy from Xfinity to make money, all the while deceiving their customers. I couldn't be more disappointed or frustrated by this company.
