ESPN freezes up with xfinity stream tv app
ESPN channel and only the ESPN channel, not ESPN 2 or ESPN + will lock up/freeze for both audio and video after a few minutes of streaming. First the video will start glitching then it will finally freeze up. This is happening on multiple TVs in the house with different devices. This affects both 724 and 1205 ESPN channels. If we switch off to a different channel, then back to ESPN, it will work for a few minutes, then freeze again.
We are using the Roku 4k Plus for streaming with the Xfinity streaming app.
ESPN worked fine for a few years, then just started freezing up about a week ago. I noticed that commercials do not freeze, only the main ESPN broadcast, both games and regular ESPN shows.
We've also noticed the channel changing has gotten very slow sometimes ( 20-30 seconds ) and will sometimes time out with the Xfinity streaming app.

I have tried a few of the suggestions from other threads including system resets, clear cache, the special reset ( HOME x5, UP, Rewind x2, FF x2 ) etc, and these have NOT worked for me. ESPN still freezes up.

In your Forum user Profile Settings is "Opt Out from Direct Messaging" checked? If it is, clear it, and click Save.
You'd think employees would know these things.

Xfinity support performed an 'account refresh' on my account. This only took a few minutes and after this was completed, we did have to re sign into the xfinity stream app, but now ESPN works as expected and my channel changes are faster than they were before the account refresh.
We will keep testing but as of right now a few hours after the refresh, all is working very well

If "Opt Out from Direct Messaging" is checked, neither the DM icon nor the link you posted (they are the same thing, actually) will work. In both cases, the DM page appears, but attempting to select the New Message icon fails -- a red circle-slash appears and blocks progress.
