DVR Conflict Bug

There's a major bug in the DVR recording system. For example, I tried to record 3 shows tonight (using the web app) but I get a conflict error saying there are too many at the same time. As we know there is a limit of 6 simultaneous recordings. So how do 3 shows result in more than 6 recordings? Here's how: I record Survivor on CBS HD (channel 611 in Houston) from 7:00 to 8:30. And immediately after that, The Summit on the same channel from 8:30 to 10:00. I also record The Challenge on MTV HD (channel 630) from 7:00 to 8:30.  So that's 2 shows at once and then just one show. Ah, but there's padding turned on so that The Summit starts just before Survivor and The Challenge finish. So for a few minutes there are 3 recordings happening at the same time. Still within the 6 show limit. But here's the kicker: a copy of CBS HD also appears as channel 1011. And a copy of MTV HD appears on channel 1606 and also on TV GO. And the live guide shows all of those lit up as recordings despite the fact that I only set to record channel 611 and 630. If I try to cancel any of the extras it cancels them all. So for a few minutes around 8:30, I'm getting "charged" for 7 simultaneous recordings (2 on 611, 2 on 1011, 1 on 630, 1 on 1606, 1 on TV Go). Please fix this nonsense.

@user_62mu3t  - Thank you for your feedback and joining the Xfinity Forums Community! We'll ask a few quetions to get a better understanding and work together towards a resolution. Is your DVR recording mulitple channels that you had not set?

No, it's only recording the channels I set. The duplicates are only showing in the live guide. Something I didn't mention in my original post: I recently adjusted my DVR plan from the premium (130 hour) to the basic (20 hour) option. This problem showed up shortly after that.

Thank you for confirming, @user_62mu3t! From what I'm seeing, even with Xfinity's included 20-hour DVR service, you should still be able to record up to six programs simultaneously; the storage space only affects how many hours of recordings you can keep, not the number of programs you can record at once. We may have to take a closer look at this and run some diagnostics to see what can be done to resolve things. But you're in the right place! Our team is the best at reviewing and resolving concerns quickly, and it would be my pleasure to see what we can do to help :) Could you please send our team a direct message to continue?
