Looking into this a bit more, Active Armor is a 3rd party app that helps encrypt/secure data and adds extra layers of protection to a mobile device. While this definitely has its benifits, there has been reports from Active Armor users that a recent update to the Active Armor App is causing users to have issues connection to some data sources.
Considering it sounds like the Xfinity Stream App is working as intended when you remove the 3rd party software form the device. My recomendation would be to see help from the Active Armor team to see if they have a workaround for this.
