Cannot pause/rewind live TV with Beta App

Wondering if pausing and rewinding live TV can be added as a feature like on the box. I believe the DVR is in their cloud as I can playback my recorded movies with the beta app. Probably no but figured I'd ask anyway.

Thanks!

That is some great feedback @user_54b812. I can definitely see how pausing and rewinding live TV would make the experience on the Xfinity Stream app even better. I will make sure to pass this feedback along as Xfinity is always looking to improve the overall experience our products have to offer. In regard to the X1 Cloud DVR, it functions just like a regular DVR but gives you the ability to stream your recordings via your mobile devices and computers from the Xfinity Stream app or the Xfinity Stream portal. The link I provided gives you an overview of the X1 Cloud DVR. Please give it a look over and let me know if you have any questions.

@XfinityLuis Thanks for the info. I should clarify I'm using the Xfinity Stream Beta app Version 6.4 on my Roku. My question was about the Xfinity Stream Beta app having the ability to pause or rewind.

@user_54b812 Thank you so much for clarifying and letting us know what device you are using the stream app from. When watching live TV the pause and fast forward feature is unavailable on the Xfinity Stream app. These functionalities are available when streaming a recorded show/movie.

I no longer work for Comcast.

They’re almost definitely holding this out of the app to avoid cannibalizing sales of the boxes that include DVR. Some Xfinity PM has run the numbers and probably even suggested it, but likely got shot down by some bean counter.

Other apps have shown this is relatively straightforward to implement, either with cloud-based storage (ideal) or with using storage on the Roku, TV’s USB port, etc.

You can see the following statement here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-stream-beta-app-faqs, which might help provide more clarity/understanding/insight on beta app functionality:

The Xfinity Stream app for Partner Devices is currently offered in a "beta" version that doesn't include the full set of features and functionality that comes with the Xfinity Stream app or the web portal. Future releases of the app will include additional features and functionality, as well as improved stability and optimization. When using the "beta" app, you won't be charged an "additional outlet" service charge. Pricing may change in the future.

Please note that Xfinity X1 is the best way to watch Xfinity TV, and not all features of X1 are available if you choose to use a Partner Device
