Xfinity streaming app not working on Amazon fire tv cube or roku
I’m having problems with my Amazon Fire tv cube and the roku streaming device in running the Xfinity streaming app. I have reinstalled the latest version from the App Store and when I start it, I get CONNECTION ERROR Please check your connection and try again. I have used it fir over a year and have never had this problem before. Can someone tell me if this is now a problem you are experiencing also.

I am so sorry about that streaming concern! You have made sure the app is up to date. Have you tried to reboot the stick or the Roku? Does that fix anything? Also, have you had any issues with any other apps? Have you tried to reboot the modem? If you have tried those and nothing helped, you can send me a DM as well @Shawshank37027. You can do that by following these directions:
To send a direct message you may need to:
Click "Sign In"
Click the "direct message" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

I have also been experiencing buffering issues with the Xfinity app on a tv with a fire stick. I did notice that the version of the app was older so I updated it and still have the same issue. I have a very strong Wi-Fi signal. I have not cycled the power on the fire stick, will that help?

Hello @user_4add57 and @user_dfee5b! Thanks for letting us know that you are also experiencing these issues.
Freezing, skipping and buffering are all signs of a poor wifi signal. Some of the best first troubleshooting steps are:
-Reboot your gateway/router.
-Reboot your fire stick or roku.
-Run a speed test using speedtest.xfinity.com to see if they are significantly slower than your subscribed speeds.
We also have this super handy guide that will walk you through some wifi troubleshooting steps, and ways you can improve your overall signal!

Please give these steps a try and if you are still having difficulties, please create a new topic of your own on this board detailing your issue so that the community and our support representatives can assist you. :)
