Xfinity Stream will not cast
I have found numerous posts regarding this issue, but no conclusive fixes. I have had the Xfinity app on my Android phone for sometime with no issues. Once fine day, it simply stopped casting, it says its casting and the Chromecast shows a still screen with the tree dots but never fully connects. SO, I tried installing the app on my iphone, will not cast. Tried from my laptop, from the Xfinity website, will not cast. Installed my brand new Chromecast, still does the samething on all three devices. I can cast from any other app on any of the devices to either of the chromcasts without issue, but not from the Xfinity stream app from any device to either chromecast.
The only thing I can think of is once the connection is made, the app it's self is blocking the stream from flowing to the cast. It is the only common denominator in my scenario. Now the question becomes why is the app blocking the stream from flowing once the connection is made? AND how do I fix it?

It's the same for everyone. Why is Xfinity wasting all of our times with their nonsense to indiviudally email them. Xfinity is the problem and they know it. It worked fine for a year on all devices and laptops and now works for NO ONE regardless of device, regardless of channel, regardless of the fact on the same wifi. Stop the BS Xfinity and fix your coding. So sick of it. Everyone can stream to chromcast with EVERY OTHER APP NBC, CBS, ABC, PARAMOUNT, NETFLIX, MAX, STARZ, EXCEPT FOR XFINITY STREAM.

I found a solution that works if you have a chromecast that has google TV!! I have so far watched live TV and recorded TV with no issues. I have the bacis google tv chromecast, not the 4k version, this one--> (https://store.google.com/config/chromecast_google_tv?hl=en-US&utm_source=tv_google_web&utm_medium=google_oo&utm_campaign=GS107330&pli=1&selections=eyJwcm9kdWN0RmFtaWx5IjoiWTJoeWIyMWxZMkZ6ZEY5bmIyOW5iR1ZmZEhZPSJ9)
It involves sideloading the app to your google TV device. It's not technically difficult but the steps may be new territory for some people, so ask if you have any questions.
You'll need to download the APK file of the Xfinity Stream App for Fire TV/Android TV, I used this link https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/comcast/xfinity-stream-beta-fire-tv/xfinity-stream-beta-fire-tv-7-6-0-6-release/xfinity-stream-fire-tv-android-tv-7-6-0-6-android-apk-download/
APK files are not a pirated version of the app, they are safe and legal, learn more here https://www.protectstar.com/en/blog/apk-files-what-you-need-to-know-are-they-harmful-or-illegal#:~:text=APK%20files%20are%20not%20illegal,and%20even%20offering%20additional%20advantages.
You'll also need the app "Send files to TV" on your google TV and android phone. I used the link to remotely download to both devices https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yablio.sendfilestotv&hl=en_US&gl=US
And you'll have to put your google TV/chromecast in developer mode which is also easy and doesn't make using the device any more complicated, it just turns off the safety that stops you from doing this. This is done by using the remote on your chromecast to go to the top right cvorner, go to settings, system, about, scroll down to android TV OS build and click it a bunch of times, there will be some dialogue pop up updating you about you're progress in enabling developer mode.
Once you have the apps installed, move the APK file to the TV from your phone by opening "Send files to TV", click send, click top right menu, ... file chooser and in your downloads should be the APK.
Open the app on the TV. (go to the apps tab, click see all apps) and accept the file. download. Open, it will ask permission, now that you're a developer you can give permission. And then you can open and enjoy the app!
After that, to get to the app you have to go to the settings menu, app, see all apps, and scroll down till you see it. It has not been visible for me from the apps tab.

Did anyone get a resolution to this? I am experiencing this issue, too.

The solution mentioned above won't work for me as I have an earlier version of Chromecast, which works totally fine casting every other platform btw. This is very frustrating and I am not even going to bother contacting Xfinity customer support knowing the nightmare that would entail. Just adding my two cents here that I hope the company is listening and gets this problem fixed. Confidence is not high however.

As I look into this more closely, I have to agree with other users that Xfinity is simply being greedy and trying to force its customers to rent their set top box in order to use Chromecast. I do not expect this issue to get fixed and am now looking at alternatives such as Hulu and cancelling the television broadcast portion of my Xfinity service.

Same problem, Xfinity stream won't stream to a Chromecast device as of 9/29/2023. Looking at the posts apparently a common issue.

I've been having the same issue and the Comcast responses in here have been embarrassing. Clearly, it's a universal issue (or tactic), they need to stop replying in here like there is anything short of an update on the Comcast side that can fix this. This issue has ruined football Sundays for me.

Just to give some followup on my issue, which still persists. There may be some quirks in may situation, which is as follows:
1) Xfinity stream app DOES cast successfully to Android TV (Hisense) at HOME
2) Xfinity stream app DOES cast successfully to Google TV chromecast at HOME
3) Xfinity stream app DOES NOT cast to Google TV chromecast at vacation cottage (Non xfinity wifi)
4) ESPN and other streaming apps DO successfully cast to Google TV chromcast at vacation cottage (non xfinity wifi)
I called xfinity tech support and reviewed all this. To their credit, the person stayed on line with me for > 30 minutes to try to be helpful, but could not identify a solution. They offered me a credit on my account.
Clearly, this has just taken too much time for me to keep working on. I am not interested in spending any more time on this, and so will probably switch to Youtube TV so I don't have to futz with casting, etc. Even in the best of circumstances, the xfinity stream app is slow, casting executes slowly and not smoothly. I've concluded that they simply are not a technology company, and apps/casting/etc is not their strong suit or a priority.

Same/Same. Streaming stalls after connecting to the desired device. There must be a compliance issue between Xfinity and Google. It's now a worthless app.

The app works on the Chromecast in one room, but not on the Chromecast in another. Like other users, all other apps (Netflix, Prime, CBS…etc) can cast on both without any issues. I’ve tried switching Chromecast as well. Both TVs are Sony.
Xfinity Bot - Don’t tell me to DM you because that would be a complete waste of time.

I have been having the same issue. Other apps (Netflix, etc) cast just fine. Spent over two hrs on phone with Comcast and no resolution.
Comcast, when are you going to fix this!?!?!?!?!?!
