Xfinity stream not casting

Trying to cast from my iPhone to my tv, My app says casting to my device, and my device or tv says Xfinity stream ready to cast, but nothing happens.  All other apps work fine.

I have 2 Chromecast, 1 works with Xfinity Stream and 1 does not.

I have a similar issue.  Chromecast on 'xfinity stream' worked through the weekend and stopped working during this week sometime early in the week.  Nothing on my side changed except, potentially, an upgrade to the app.  I see below this is probably the issue but that post was 9 days ago.  I am using IOS for the stream app.  Interestingly, I tried to use chat last night to resolve the issue.  We went through the usual reboot the devices trouble shooting but the chat operator did not mention that this seems to be a known issue -- but the chat did not reach a conclusion because the chat was cut off for some reason.  Probably another bug :) .

Having the same issue. Comcast technical support was worthless. How long does Comcast just let this go until the issue is resolved? Absolutely ridiculous.

I have three Chromecast devices, a 1st gen, a 2nd gen, and a 3rd gen. I am only experiencing the problem with the 2nd gen device. I can cast to the 1st and 3rd gen devices just fine. It's only the 2nd gen device that won't cast.

both mine are 2nd gen (NC2-6A5) but only one is not working with xfinity streaming. Same firmware too. The one that isn’t working with xfinity still streams other stuff. They must be blocking the MAC address on it.

This is ridiculous.  Went to bed a week ago Wednesday, got up Thursday morning and not working!  This is caused by Xfinity not Google!  I have 3 chromecast dongles installed... all three are working... for everything but Xfinity.  Have the Xfinity app on 4 units, two phone, two pads... none of them work.

I call Xfinity for help and they say there is an "outage" in our area... there isn't, our TV and Internet are working fine... and they can't help me until it is fixed and hang up!

If they would just use the cast ability built into the Android/Google system rather than using their own procedures we wouldn't have this problem... it all harkens back to their efforts to control what/where/when you can watch the TV they are charging you for.

casting from the app to chrome cast stopped working. I hope you get this fixed soon.  I am close to canceling all my comcast xfinity  accounts.

Like everyone else on this forum mine is out too.  YouTube,  Amazon Prime, Netflix and etc. working perfectly,  xfinity is not casting at all.  Went to Xfinity shop today and was told by clueless customer service representative that if I tried to uninstall Xfinity stream app and reinstall would work fine.  Said it was a minor update issue. 

Obviously didn't work or I would be watching the TV service I am paying for instead of being on this forum. 

If not resolved soon bye bye Xfinity.   Not afraid switch to a new service.

I am facing the same.  It started a few weeks back and I tried from multiple laptops and mobile devices.  I feel a little better that I am not losing my mind & not the only one facing this issue so now wandering if this is more wide-spread issue which Xfinity is doing anything to resolve...so frustrating. :(

@MikeP_14 It does not seem that Xfinity is doing anything to fix it since it has been going on for at least two weeks. Directv has a great stream package that i willbe looking into or checking out sling. This sucks!

Update, I have been using the Chrome cast Ultra with the HDMI CABLE connected to the round disc device. There are no identifying mars on it so I’m not sure what version it is. This is the device that will not stream. I dug out my original, Gen 1 which always seemed a little slow but served the purpose when it first came out. I factory defaulted it and let google update the firmware and tried to stream. The screen is not as crisp but at least I can watch hockey until the idiots at Xfinity figure this out, if ever!

I have the same issue, I would under settings on my phone, under Chromecast or with my case, I have a pixel 4 I went under my Google Home where my Chromecast is located. I allowed permission for media and files. And now it started to work again!

Mine started working. I went under settings on my phone, under apps, and then to my Chromecast app which is located with my Google Home. I allowed permission for media and files, and everything worked! I just went under there just to make sure everything was okay with the settings. I hope this works for everybody!

Same issues as others have been reporting.  Xfinity must know this will drive customers away yet little seems to affect getting a fix put in place.  That's bewildering.
