Xfinity Stream logs me off without warning or cause

The Xfinity Stream app logs me off at random, sometimes in 12 hours, never longer than 48. When that happens, it erases all my downloads. I am in a congested area with slow Xfinity WiFi and abysmal mobile service. I cannot watch the recordings directly because the service is so bad. It took an hour to watch a 30 minute program and used up all my data. The logos did not happen before an Xfinity employee told me via chat to delete and reinstall the app. Any ideas other than leaving Xfinity?

user_1nlxcd, we can certainly help investigate this further. I'm sure losing your downloads after doing all the work is likely super frustrating. You stated the WiFi has been really bad at your location. Do you have your own home network, or do you have community-provided WiFi? Does this happen weather your home network or a Xfinity Hotspot?

I am staying with friends. They have Xfinity internet. The area is very congested. At times, there is no WiFi signal or one that is so slow that even a web browser doesn’t respond well. But, if I am logged into Stream, the strength of the WiFi signal should be irrelevant. I was able to access Stream on a plane without paying for their internet access. Why should it matter if I want to play a download on my phone that I have already started once to perform the verification step.

To do the downloads, I am driving to an Xfinity store. It is the only place in town where I have found a decent WiFi signal.

When I voluntarily signed out of the app, it said the downloads would be erased. That appears to be a feature, not a bug, though a very annoying one. My problem is the app signing me out when I did not ask it to or do anything to cause it. Both are frustrating, but one is a design flaw, the other is just wrong!
